MPP Mitzie Hunter to Walk in Solidarity with Striking Ontario Public Teachers

Feb 21,2020

February 21, 2020

MPP Mitzie Hunter will be walking in solidarity with nearly 30,000 striking teachers in a large protest and joint provincewide strike at Queen’s Park. MPP Hunter will join supporters of AEFO, ETFO, OECTA, OSSTF in calling for the Ford government to prioritize student education over cuts and to get the two million students back into their classes. She is available to discuss possible solutions to the education impasse.

“Enough is enough,” says Hunter. “Let’s stop this public relations battle and get back to the negotiating table in a transparent, collaborative and respectful way. Bargaining education over social media is unacceptable and not in good faith. This whole conversation needs to change in tone and the Ford government needs to work towards achieving good outcomes for students.  Prioritizing students and education is an essential part of a successful economic plan and more importantly a prosperous Ontario.”
