TORONTO, ON – Today, MPP Mitzie Hunter released the following statement in response to the Ford Government education reversals. Ontario backs down on high school class sizes, online courses, in a bid to restart talks with teachers.
‘The amount of turmoil and chaos the Ford Conservatives have caused parents, students, teachers, and all education workers to get to this point in the negotiations is reckless and irresponsible.”, says MPP Hunter. “In addition, we still are seeing increased class sizes from the previously funded average of 22.5 that protect the quality of public education in our classrooms. Ontarians deserve better. The Ford government needs to get serious about getting a fair deal at the table. Telegraphing ideas in the media is not helping to get a deal that’s needed now.”
